Lidia Varesco Racoma
who am I?
I'm an art director and designer with 20 years of experience and a passion for marketing and typography. I started Lidia Varesco Design in 2000 so that I could have the freedom to work with clients and projects that inspired me.
I'm also mom of a toddler, an active blogger and passionate supporter of local business.
why work with me?
I get marketing.
At the heart of my designs is an understanding of marketing strategies. I take each project and try to understand your problems, and come out with a design solution that supports the vehicle, medium and your strategy.
I take a personal, integrated approach.
I get to know you and your organization and consider myself part of your team—making it easy for me to help you. I take an integrated approach to communications, creating long-term relationships and getting just as excited about your projects as you do.
I know people.
I have relationships with talented and trusted business partners (copywriting, photography, printing) that can assist in making every project successful.

who I work with
Organizations without an in-house design team.
No branding? Branding or marketing materials need a refresh? I will get to know you and become part of your team, so that my designs express your organization's mission and message.
In-house departments overloaded with work.
Too much work for your team to handle? I can dig into your brand standards and hit the ground running. I can turn around projects quickly, leaving one less task for your in-house team to tackle.
Small businesses who need a brand.
I love working with fellow entrepreneurs. I'll help you kickstart your business by designing cohesive branding and marketing—anything from a logo to an integrated print and online marketing campaign.
what else I'm working on...
typebaby | typographic baby goods
In 2013 I launched typebaby, a line of kid-inspired and mom-designed baby and kids apparel. See the typebaby collection here.
typography in the city blog
Typography in the City is where I share photographs of found typography from my Chicago neighborhood and beyond.
In April 2009, I partnered with friend and fellow small business owner Elizabeth Lulu Miranda of Mercury Organizing Professionals to create Neighborhood Networking, a business networking event that travels to different Chicago neighborhoods.
