Why shop local?

If you need a good reason (or perhaps 10) to shop locally-owned businesses, check out this new commercial for Local First Chicago, a network of locally owned, independent businesses and community organizations. In this video, local business owners—including Lidia Varesco Design—talk about the various reasons why we shop local. Being an artist myself, I feel that it’s especially important to buy from local artists. Not only will you find something unique, but you’ll be supporting your neighborhood or community—which is good for the economy too!
